About Us

The Genetic Counsellor Registration Board (GCRB) comprises of eight GCRB Registered Genetic Counsellors as full members, (two who hold a relevant statutory professional registration, two who hold a GCRB approved MSc in Genetic Counselling and four other GCRB Registered Genetic Counsellors).

Three associate members will be appointed, one with academic/educational expertise, one being a clinical geneticist (medical practitioner) and one being a lay advisor.

The GCRB will also appoint an administrator to provide support to the board.

The standard term of office will be three years and an existing GCRB member may volunteer for a second consecutive term.

GCRB members have a legal obligation to act in the best interests of the organisation, and in accordance with its governing documents, and to avoid situations where there may be a potential conflict of interest. Others acting within the remit of the GCRB have similar obligations. For further information please refer to the GCRB Declaration of Interest Policy. A Declaration of Interest Form should be submitted as appropriate.
